Implantology is a series of surgical techniques to aid the rehabilitation of a patient affected by loss of teeth, either wholly or in part. Dental implants are made of metal and surgically inserted into the lower jaw; implants are bespoke and inserted in different ways depending on the prevailing condition.  Registration with the General Dental Council (GDC) and a diploma in implant dentistry are mandatory qualification requirements.
