The duties of a dental nurse are to support the dentist or orthodontist in all aspects of care. This can range from preparing equipment and mixing dental substances to relaxing the patients, taking notes and covering reception. In addition to dental surgeries, dental nurses can also be employed in GP surgeries, hospitals or community and mobile dental services.  The qualifications required for this post are registration with the General Dental Council (GDC) and to have completed a GDC-accredited course successfully.
